Dear Students,
Greetings for the New Year! This beginning of this new year is all the more special as it commemorated the 75th anniversary of our college with the Global Alumni Convention where our distinguished alumni from far and near revisited the campus. It was indeed an occasion that filled everyone's heart with pride and eyes with tears of joy and nostalgia.
The three day event was graced by the Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat and several renowned dignitaries. In the journey of almost 75 years, LDCE has scaled noteworthy national and international heights in all its curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The faculty has continuously evolved and adopted state of the art technologies and teaching learning methodologies. The academics are backed by well-equipped R&D infrastructure. Five programs namely BE(Civil),BE(Mechanical), BE(Electrical), BE(IC) and BE(Chemical) are NBA accredited and the remaining programs are in the pipeline. The college has excellent enrolment of nearly 7000 students with diversified culture from across the country studying together in 16 various disciplines
To promote R & D, the college has created central facilities of Design Lab, DST IT Incubator, Centre of Excellence Welding, Centre of Excellence Siemens, ISRO NAVIC Satellite Communication Receiver, Supercomputer Laband Student Start-up and Innovation Policy (SSIP) Cell for students and teachers. All departments are working on projects funded by Govt. of Gujarat and Govt. of India. Recent Start-ups such as Exposit, Reolo, Trauma Patch received National/ International Award. At present we have 6 start ups registered with the DIPP.
Through its unparalleled endeavour, despite the pandemic, LDCE today holds 18 granted patents. LDCE is ranked 3rd across the nation in ARIIA 2021 (Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements) by Ministry of Education, GoI. Students and faculty members have published more than 300 research papers in Scopus and Web of Science indexed journals.
Today, LDCE has become a hub of academic excellence in the state and region.It has been conferred a 5-star rating at the Gujarati Ranking Framwork (GSIRF) in the state consecutively in 2022 and 2021
LDCE has been ranked 20th in India in 2022 by Times Higher Education. The departments have achieved highest number of students' placements across the state with very high pay packages, where-in nearly 270 national and multinational companies have visited the campus among which some prominent recruiters are L&T, Accenture, TATAGroup, Hitachi, Ford, SIEMENS and IBM. This resulted in LDCE securing overall 28th rank in the INDIA TODAY rankings in 2022 and 2021 also.
LDCE has been consistently doing well and achieving several gold medals in the Gujarat Technological University in academics as well as co-curricular, innovation and pedagogy activities. In January 2023 our student team won the Best Short Film Making Competition on Climate Change in a state level event.
4 of our 7 participating teams won the Smart India Hackathon with a cash prize of ₹1L. Our team won the over all trophy at Bharat Motorsports Championships in Jan 2022 and also trophies across all 7 categories.
In March 2022, a One Act Play written, directed and acted exclusively by LD Students entitled "@AccidentalInfluencer" won the Best One Act Play award in 33rd edition of prestigious Open Gujarat Inter-College One Act Play Competition.
L. D. College of Engineering is continuously marching forward for its Centennial Plan through its alumni spread across the globe, pitching in to contribute.
LDCE is establishing advanced high end, new generation laboratories of AI & ML, Robotics, IOT.
You are a part of this legacy now. Tread with vigour and humility, on the path to achieve your aspirations. Take along with you, your peers and the institute to greater heights - small steps but a grand vision and a steely determination is the need of the hour.
