The chemical engineering department is planning for a one-week short-term training program (STTP) on “Heat Exchange Process Intensification” during 28th May to 2nd June 2018. Department is planning this training for the faculties, P.G. students and industry personnel where a thorough knowledge on the recent advances in chemical engineering field with a special emphasis on “Process Intensification”.
22 students of final year have been placed in various reputed companies through campus recruitment. Some of the companies include Reliance Industries ltd, torrent pharma, deepak nitrate ltd etc.
Chemical Engineering Department has organized series of expert lectures during 26th March to 27th March 2018. Following topics were covered by experts from industry and academia. 1. Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials: Synthesis, Characterization and Applications. 2. Green House Mitigation: CO2 Sequestration and Utilization. 3. Rotary Steam Tube Dryer in Soda Ash Industry.
30 pre-final year students were taken to Green environment Services Cooperative Society Ltd ,Vatva . Students were explained about the effluent treatment processes being carried out near small and medium scale industries.
Under Student Startup and Innovation Policy, two projects of 6th sem students have received a combined grant of Rs. 3,60,000 from Govt. of Gujarat. Projects are focused on environmental sustainability (wastewater treatment and biodiesel production)
A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Chemical Engineering Department, L D College of engineering with GCA (Gujarat Chemical Association).
Prof. S.M. Dutta has published the paper titled "Prospects of ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents as new generation draw solution in forward osmosis process" in Journal of Water Process Engineering (Impact Factor: 1.713).
Sixty students from chemical engineering department visited Amul Dairy and Parle Ltd on 4th September 2017.
