KAIZEN 2K23 is 8th Annual Technical open house event for final year UG Students. The event was organized on 9th & 10th May 2023. The internship presentation and evaluation was organized on 9th May 2023. The internship projects of B.E. Semester 8th Rubber Technology students have displayed their internship work and gave presentation of technical task which was assigned to them during 12-14 week internship at respective Industries. On the second day, the winners were awarded with certificates in presence of Principal, L.D.C.E, Dr. R.K.Gajjar along with chief guests and faculties for motivation and appreciation of students.
The event KAIZEN – 2K23 was organized by Electrical Engineering Department with great efforts and support by all faculty members and students under leadership of Head of the department, Dr.Ketan P Badgujar and Prof J R Iyer. Six parallel sessions were conducted at different venues. Well known experts from the industry came to guide and assess the student’s work. Each jury member took keen interest in discussing each and every internship and project in details.
KAIZEN-2023 will be organized on 9th and 10th May 2023. The purpose of KAIZEN-2023 is to review, mentor and improve the project/internship work done by the students so far. The meaning of KAIZEN is Continuous improvement. KAIZEN-2023 will showcase continuous improvement done in the skills of students due to final semester internships and projects work. It showcases the innovative ideas of the students to the industry personnel, alumni, parents and media.
ACPC Counseling awareness seminar schedule for online admission process-2023-24
The workshop on “Real time applications of Arduino” began with offering prayer. Thereafter, welcome speech was addressed by Prof. (Dr.) J. R. Iyer,. In addition, the importance of this training and significance to learn Arduino was discussed by Prof. F.A. Macwan and Prof. H.N. Raval. The speakers for the workshop were, Abhay Gosai, Shwetal Shyara, Om Bhatt, students of semester-6, EED, LDCE. Initially, arduino architecture including pin-diagram was discussed by speakers. Moreover, they also discussed the brief about the sensor they were going to demonstrate such as relay switch module, IR sensor module, tilt switch module, and Ultra Sonic sensor module.
Sensitization on startup and innovation for 1st year and 2nd year E.C students was held in room no 968 of EC building at 11.30 am. The aim of the orientation was to make 1st and 2nd year students aware about SSIP 2.O policy and encourage them on why to choose startup. HOD Dr. C. H. Vithlani, SSIP Coordinator, Dr. Manish Thakkar, Dr. Sanjay Prajapati, IPR and Research coordinator along with department SSIP coordinator Dr. Nirali Kotak were present. The orientation was started by a brief introduction about startup and entrepreneurship by hosts. The introduction contained the basics of startup and terms like pre-incubation. After that HOD sir, gave his wise words to student about SSIP policy and about how they could utilize time making it worth. Further he spoke about importance of startup and the environment that is being provided to the students. He also highlighted about benefits of moving to entrepreneurship at a young age. Then Dr. Manish Thakkar sir has motivated students in the direction of entrepreneurship and startups. After that department SSIP coordinator, Dr. Nirali Kotak walked through the steps to file a PoC and how the given Ideas will be evaluated, the financial allowance for innovation, mentor allowance and other supports.As concluding remarks, Dr. Sanjay Prajapati sir has encouraged students regarding IPR facilities and opportunities provided by the institute for filing patents, copy rights, trademarks, industrial design and semiconductor design as well.
A Expert talk EV charger was arranged on the 4th of May 2023 at the Bhaskarcharya hall, Department of Electronics and Communication of L D Engineering College. Shri Priyesh Pandya ,(Technical Manager, e-Infochips, Ahmedabad ) was the speaker for this event. HOD of the EC Department Dr. C. H. Vithalani Sir along with other faculties and students has attended the session. The seminar was initiated by the Dr.. C H Vithlani sir by greeting guests, faculties, and students. About 65 students of the department participated in the event. The motive of the seminar was to spread awareness among the students about the opportunities in the area of EV charger and to learn about the challenges and opportunities in this field Mr. Priyesh Pandya sir explained fundamentals of EV chargers, Block diagram of EV charging system, issues related with EV chargers, Technology and standards related to EV Chargers.The session was ended by vote of thanks by Prof. Sanjay B. Prajapati.
LDCE won four awards in ISTE Gujarat State Award-2021-22 which are as follows: 1) ISTE GUJ-UKA TARSADIA BEST ENGINEERING COLLEGE AWARD 2) INSTITUTIONAL MEMBER OF GUJARAT FOR RAISING HIGHEST NUMBER OF LIFE MEMBERSHIP 3) ISTE-HJD INSTITUTE, KUTCH-AWARD TO THE BEST INSTITUTE FOR CONTRIBUTING IN SOCIAL ACTIVITIES 4) ISTE-VBT STATE AWARD FOR THE BEST WOMAN TEACHING FACULTY IN DEGREE ENGINEERING COLLEGE - Dr. Komal Dave of LDCE received award
Sandeep Anand received the B.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai, India, in 2007 and 2013, respectively. He had brief stints at Industry, working previously with Emerson Network Power, Mumbai, and Cosmic Circuits Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, India. From 2013 to 2019, he was an Assistant Professor with the Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T), Kanpur, India, where he became an Associate Professor in 2020. He is currently an Associate Professor with I.I.T Bombay, India. He has received “Young Scientist Platinum Jubilee Award" by The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) in 2019 & "Young Engineer Award" by Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) in 2017. His research interests include Electric Vehicles Power Train including EV Chargers, Reliability of Power Electronic Circuits, Wide bandgap devices (GaN, SiC) based Power Converters and Circuits for Interfacing Alternate Sources of Energy. In the area of electric vehicles, he is supporting various MSME industries in terms of R&D support for their power drive train requirements and also by running skill development courses in this emerging area.
