Information Technology focuses on the design of technological information systems, including computing systems, solutions to business, analysis of research data, and communications support needs. It also includes computer software components, algorithms, databases, telecommunications, user tactics, application testing, and human interface design. The prime motto was to provide an opportunity and stimulate students for exchanging ideas, opinions, and share experiences and various approaches towards problem-solving. Kaizen - Japanese word for "continuous improvement ". It is the practice of continuous improvement. Kaizen process aims at continuous improvement of processes not only in the manufacturing sector but all other departments as well. Implementing Kaizen tools is not the responsibility of a single individual but involves every member who is directly associated with the organization. KAIZEN – 2021 was conducted ONLINE by the Information Technology Department with great enthusiasm and support of all faculty members and students.
The Information Technology department of L.D. College of Engineering Organized “GYAN GANGA LDCE IT ALUMNI SERIES” webinar (online mode) from 8th March 2021 to 12th March 20121. This series had 80 participants including students and faculties from BE/ME/MCA courses.
Information Technology Department of L.D.College of Engineering organized a national research conference on “Research Trends in Information & Communication Technology – NCRTICT-2020” on 7th August,2020 on an online platform. The conference, in form of research paper presentation, included many domains of research such as security, cloud computing, grid computing, IOT, digital image processing, data ware-housing, data mining, big data, software engineering, mobile computing, neural network, and machine learning. Two experts Dr.Ashish Shukla, Scientist -G, from SAC,ISRO , Dr.Sushan Karmakar , IIT Guwahati along with nearly a hundred of students , faculty members and the authors of the papers participated in the conference. Out of all presented papers, author Palak Chatwani’s “Volume rendering for weather data using Ray-casting algorithm on web” , author Nisha Sarvaiya’s “Design and Implementation of wheelchair for physically challenged people based on Eye movement detection using Image Processing” and author Rachana Bharat Parikh’s “Gujarati Speech Recognition - A Review” were chosen as the best papers from the conference.
