Alumni Meet LDCE 1979 batch organized in the LDCE Campus has been reflected as a huge applause of success. 90 Alumni's have visited the campus and 27 were from the Department of Civil Engineering itself. The program has started with its scheduled timings from 5 pm onwards with welcome Tea and snacks. The Alumni's have revised and recalled their life as bachelor's and they have enjoyed the night as well. The event has been important as they have met after 40th year of graduation. Alumni’s have come with their family members and spouses as well for this function. Head of the Department Dr. R. B. Khasiya, Prof & Head (Civil) LDCE, Dr. P.G. Patel, Asso. A Report of an EDC Session organized by IT Department, LDCE
A visit was organized for second year students of Chemical Engineering at Harsh Organo Chem (I) Pvt. Ltd., Plot No. 2207, Phase-IV, GIDC-Vatva, Ahmedabad, on 27th Sep, 2019. Harsh Organo Chem (I) Pvt Ltd, established in 1982, has been one of the finest companies for manufacturing different types of dye intermediates with special focus on research to remain customer focused. It is an ISO 9001 : 2000 approved company. The industry is a manufacturer of various types of dyes intermediates and their product includes C-acid, European K-acid, Koch's acid, Violet acid, Amido Epsilon acid, Epsilon acid, Sulfo C-acid, Vinyl Sulphone Ortho Anisidine base (O.A.V.S.) which is used in textile and other industries. 45 students of chemical engineering gained firsthand knowledge of the various unit perations like press, tray drier, spin flash drier etc. and unit process like nitration, sulphonation etc. The unit had various types of reactors and other ancillary units like furnace, boiler, waste water treatment etc. The various tages of effluent treatment were displayed and their operation was explained in detail. Overall, the industry benefited the students providing them practical exposure in the field of dyes intermediate manufacturing with a holistic approach towards environment. Prof. C. G. Bhagchandani coordinated the visit. Prof. P. B. Shukla and Prof. . J. Modi accompanied the students for the visit.
