A short term course organized by Computer Engineering Department on “Fundamental tradeoffs in Computer design and Organization” under GIAN, sponsored by MHRD from 21st Nov to 25th Nov 2016. Highlights of the Event: 1. Total 54 participants were registered in this course which includes faculties from other degree and diploma colleges as well as PG and UG students. 2. Foreign Expert (Resource person) of the 5 days short term course was Dr. Arun K. Somani, Associate Dean for Research, College of Engineering, Anson Marston Distinguished Professor, Philip and Virginia Sproul Professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Iowa State University, Ames, USA. 3. Expert speaker Prof. A. K. Somani has 30 years of teaching experience in Computer organization and his expertise lectures included fundamentals on computer design and he enriched the participants with the knowledge of performance tradeoffs and design of various computer components like multiplexer, decoders, ALU, data path and control register file, pipelining, interface with I/O system and main memory unit.
