The one week long FDP programme provided participants a comprehensive understanding of ‘Computational Methods for Mechanical Engineers using MATLAB’ and conducting scientific programming. The programme was designed to be generic in nature for satisfying the needs of students and faculties, of Mechanical Engineering of various Government Engineering Colleges situated in the state of Gujarat, to increase their programming skills and analysis capabilities.

The programme was designed to be generic in nature for satisfying the needs of faculty pursuing their M.Tech and Ph.D from academic institutions and industry personnel carrying out research in any field. Various sessions were delivered on the basic principles of scientific research, design of experiments, data collection, statistical tools for analyzing data, oral/written communication of research and dissemination of research outcome.

(1) The present training programme is aimed at developing programming skills of the aspirants. (2) This course is intended for engineers and analysts who want to learn modeling and simulation to solve day-to-day real life problems. (3) It includes understanding basics of MATLAB and writing scripts. (4) Use of specialized MATLAB tools for analyzing simple to complex mathematical models.

Jani seminar hall, Mechanical workshop at L D College of Engineering, Ahmedabad.
A two week short term training programme on “Innovation and Advancement in Conventional Industrial Welding Practices” was held at Centre of Excellence – Welding, L D College of Engineering during 28th May to 8th June 2018. 27 participants all faculty members from Government engineering colleges and government polytechnics, participated in the STTP. All of the participants were from Mechanical Engineering field from different institutions across Gujarat.

A visit to Indo-German tool room , Vatva GIDC was organised for semester 4th students, during 22nd and 23rd march 2018 4. A visit to National Foundary exhibition fest 2018 was arranged for students at GMDC ground 5. A visit to GIFT City Gandhinagar was organised for semester 6th and cryogenic engineering students
