An expert lecture was organized on 26th April 2023 for the students of Plastic Technology Department on “Intellectual property Rights” as a part of IPR day celebration. The lecture was addressed by Miss. Mahika (Masters in Law, Vir Narmad University)
Prof. Kintu Jain along with 30 students of Semester 6th visited Haitian Industries and Jyoti Plastic Industry, Kadi,
Amul Fed Dairy visited the Department on 21st March 2023 for placement after short listing 20 students. The HR Head Mr. Samir Modi showed a company video which described the story of AMUL. This was followed by pre placement talk and written test. Total 10 students were given placement from the final year.
A expert lecture was organized on 17th March 2023 for the prefinal year students of Plastic Technology Department. It was regarding guidance for further studies abroad. The lecture was addresses by Mr. Saikat Bhowmik, Assistant Manager, Strategic Alliances, IDP Education India Pvt. Ltd.
Final Year Plastic Technology Department students, Rajan Pumbhadiya and Lukhi Jeet won the 3rd Prize in Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav Hackathon 2022 for the their project titled “Insulation Paint”. Their work was published in Gujarat Samachar News paper
Rajan Pumbhadiya and Lukhi Jeet students of Plastic Technology Department won the 3rd Prize with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000/- in Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav Hackathon 2022. Their project was titled “Insulation Paint” under Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam(GUVNL) .
Plastic Technology department arranged a pedagogy meeting with IPI- Ahmedabad office-bearers Mr. Chetan Shah, Mr. Gopalbhai on 6th April 2023. Discussion regarding arrangement of expert lectures and industrial visits for the students at various was done for the coming new semester
Prof. Bharati G. Basantani conducted an expert lecture at CIPET, Vatva on the topic “Bio-Compostable Plastics: A Solution to Environmental Problems” during two Days Workshop on “Implementation of Green Chemistry & Circular Economy in Toxic & Hazardous Industrial Wastes”
Plastic Technology department celebrated Global Alumni Convention (GAC) -2023. Around 19 Alumni visited the department . They interacted with department faculties and students . They had a departmental tour and also came with very concrete suggestions to develop the Laboratory facility in the department.
Plastic Technology Department students of the Final year, Rajan Pumbhadiya & Jeet Lukhi had worked on Hackathon project on “Bioplastics Made from Cactus plant”. There work was published as an article in Gujarat Samachar Newspaper .
