Mr. Mayur Vanza

I am currently working as an Associate Professor of Applied Mechanics Department, L. D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad affiliated to Gujarat Technological University. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (1990) from L. E. College Morvi affiliated with Saurashtra University and Master’s Degree in Civil –CASAD (1999) from L.D. College of Engineering affiliated to Gujarat University. I have joined Education Department of Gujarat State in August 1991. I have been engaged in teaching Mechanics of solids, Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics, Foundation Engineering and Design of steel structures in Bachelor of Engineering level and Advanced Solid mechanics, Advanced Foundation Engineering, Rock opening and tunneling, Subsurface Investigation & Instrumentation in Master Engineering course. I am currently pursuing PhD from Marwadi University. My major area of interest is in developing Ultra high strength fiber reinforced concrete. During my stint as an Academician, I have published about 47 research papers at National and International level, Books on Structural analysis I (Books India Publication- ISBN:978-93-80867-78-6) and Objective type questions for CIVIL Engineering (Sankalp Publication ISBN: 978-93-5493-417-9). I also mentored both graduate and post-graduate project works(30 students were guided by me in Master of Engineering course) and I am actively involved in the consultancy (More than 100 projects structural design were proof checked by me as individual/as a team leader/as a team member) and material testing works taken up by the department in college. I am also working as Executive secretary of student’s store which provides the material required for preparation of term work to the students like journal pages, file, drawing sheets etc. I am also working as Security In charge for college campus.
