Their work got selected under the SSIP and they got a grant worth Rs 15000/- for Proof of concept
An industrial visit was organized for pre final year students at The Green Environment Services Co-op. Soc. Ltd, a common effluent treatment plant (CETP) at Vatva on 19th March 2018. The CETP collects wastewater from various types of chemical industries located in GIDC-Vatva and treat them and dispose the treated effluent as per GPCB guidelines. Around 36 students of 6th semester of Chemical branch were exposed to the various phases of wastewater treatment like primary, secondary and tertiary treatment processes. Overall, the CETP benefited the students providing them practical exposure in the field of waste water treatment. Prof. R. P. Bhatt, Prof. T. S. Rajaraman and Prof. R. K. Kanzariya coordinated the visit.
The rates are invited for catering service and food in various programmes at L D College of Engineering.

A seminar on “Revolutionary Developments and challenges in Fuel and Chemical Industry” was organized by the Chemical Department on 23rd Feb, 2018. The key speaker was Dr. Asit Das, Head, Refinery R&D and Process Development at Reliance Industries, Jamnagar. Dr. Asit Das has completed his PhD in Chemical Engg from Ghent University, Belgium. He is an authority in reaction engineering and catalyst development especially in petroleum and petrochemical processing. Dr. Das discussed the various aspects of petroleum industry and the challenges which the industry is facing. He also emphasized about the future pathway of Indian petroleum and petrochemical industry and discussed the implication of Shell gas in global petroleum industry. He also encouraged the budding engineers to take up research as a career. The seminar garnered a lot of applause from the students and faculties. The faculties had a special discussion with him afterwards with a focus on research areas in the field of reaction engineering and catalysis. He was accompanied by Dr. Praveen Chintala, General Manager at Reliance Industries Limited who also shared his expertise and enlightened the students about the needs of the industry.

LDCE is constantly working in the fields of social reforms. NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS) UNIT OF L. D. College of Engineering undertakes various activities which have social impact. To provide a platform to all enthusiastic artists, NSS LDCE has undertaken its wall painting competition “RANG AMAIZI” where all the zealous souls of city, state and country are invited to design their artwork for different walls of LD College of Engineering. Rang Amaizi is an innovative concept which sprouted out in the technical brains of the students of NSS Unit of L.D. College of Engineering whose motive was to enhance the beauty of the spoilt walls by organizing a wall painting competition of talented youths. More than 950 Participants have gifted LDCE the best in class paintings last year. All are requested to participate in wall painting competition at LDCE Campus on February 26, 2018.
