Today’s rapidly changing world is highly dependent on innovation and that comes up from unconventional thinking. India is one of the fastest growing and progressing countries in the world. Industrial, technological and scientific acceleration needs highly qualified, skilled, efficient and well trained engineers. Engineering colleges are trying their best to provide engineers as per requirement of industry.
Living legacy of Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering, Ahmedabad dates back to June 1948, since the itinerary of almost 07 decades LDCE has scaled noteworthy national and international credentials in all its curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular interventions by adopting contemporary Teaching-Learning & Evaluation patterns that are very well conceived by venerated teachers. The academics are backed by well equipped academic and support infrastructure. Three programs namely BE(Civil), BE(Mechanical) and BE(Electrical) are NBA accredited for three years from September 2019. Institute has PhD- 59 faculties and PhD Pursuing- 94 faculties.
The college has excellent enrollment of nearly 6000 students with diversified culture all across the country studying together in 16 various disciplines.
“Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.”
To promote R & D, the college has created central facilities of Design Lab, DST IT Incubator, Centre of Excellence Welding, Centre of Excellence Siemens, ISRO NAVIC Satellite Communication Receiver, Supercomputer Lab and SSIP Cell for students and teachers. Many departments have got the project grants from GUJCOST, AICTE, DST and SSIP. Recent Start-ups such as Exposit, Reolo, Trauma Patch received National/ International Award. Approximately 90 Projects are under SSIP Cell. College has filled 20 Patents in different areas.
These academic interventions have got their reward in placement drive where in nearly 270 companies visiting the campus every year and majority of students got placed by the prominent recruiters like L&T, Accenture, TATA Group, Hitachi, Ford, SIEMENS and IBM .
You have to have a big vision and take very small steps to get there. You have to be humble as you execute but visionary and gigantic in terms of your aspiration. In the Internet industry, it's not about grand innovation, it's about a lot of little innovations: every day, every week, every month, making something a little bit better.
I am sure that the energy and commitment of its dynamic students and highly qualified faculty will lead us to great heights and make the state and nation proud.
