The Robotics and Automation, four-year undergraduate course of Bachelor of Engineering has been started in year 2022 at L. D. College of Engineering, Ahemdabad by Education Department, Government of Gujarat. The interdisciplinary course have been designed to provide knowledge of multidisciplinary understanding of robotics, combining Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Automation Technologies. The curriculum covers core areas such as robot kinematics and dynamics, control systems, machine learning, embedded systems, computer vision, Industrial automation and IoT-based robotics applications. The department strives to provide students with practical exposure, fostering hand-on learning in robotics and automation. Students actively participate in technical workshops, hackathons, competitions like Robocon, Smart India Hackathon, and various AI and robotics challenges, helping them develop practical skills and creativity. With the rise of Industry 4.0, the department aims to develop engineers who can contribute to advancements in robotics and automation, driving innovation across multiple domains.

The course is run with vision such as to develop self-motivated, eco-conscious, innovative and creative robotics and automation engineers with a strong technical knowledge, critical and analytical thinking abilities, and clear communication skills, prepared to make significant contribution in the fields of automation, AI and Intelligent systems. It is also align with mission to build a strong foundation in Robotics and Automation Engineering by blending theoretical knowledge with practical, hand-on experience and modern teaching methods and to provide students with exposure to real-world industry scenarios and encourage them to engage in research, innovation, and exploration in emerging technologies.
