Memorandum of Understanding between Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management, Gandhinagar & L D College of Engineering, Ahmedabad was signed in presence of Shri P K Taneja (IAS), Director General, GIDM & Dr G P Vadodaria, Principal, L D College of Engineering by Applied Mechanics Department. Memorandum of Understanding represents a Framework of Cooperation between GIDM and LDCE specifically on Joint Training Services, Strengthen Training Capacity, Joint Research Activity, Documentation and Case Study & Consultancy/ Advisory Services on Earthquake Resistant Construction Technology. GIDM and LDCE will collaborate to identify ways to implement the objectives of this memorandum of understanding by working together wherever applicable in their respective ongoing programs and projects.

(1) The present training programme is aimed at developing programming skills of the aspirants. (2) This course is intended for engineers and analysts who want to learn modeling and simulation to solve day-to-day real life problems. (3) It includes understanding basics of MATLAB and writing scripts. (4) Use of specialized MATLAB tools for analyzing simple to complex mathematical models.

Lecture titled with “Poultry slaughter waste management” was organized by the Chemical Department for 3rd and 5th semester students on 23-10- 2018. Mr Ketan Panchal delivered the lecture to make the students understand about the waste management methods in poultry farms. Mr Ketan elaborated the sources and basic composition of waste and methods to deal with the waste. He also focused on high risk and low risk waste from the farms. He explained the current scenario of waste management and problems faced during the treatment. He explained the disposal and treatment of solid waste. Majority of the methods he explained aimed to produce value-added ellable by-products, like pet, animal or aquaculture feed components, energy generation through biogas and production of agricultural fertilizer. He also talked about energy recovery via Anaerobic digestion. In anaerobic digestion, biological degradation of organic matter into methane under anaerobic conditions takes place.
