The department of Applied Mechanics of L.D. College of Engineering in coordination with GEC Modasa successfully organized 5-Days (One Week) Inter-disciplinary Short term Online Training Programme (STTP) On “Disaster Management and Resilience Building” from 1st August to 5th August 2022. Eminent Speakers were, Dr. Surya Prakash Gupta(NIDM), Dr. C.V.R.Murty(IITM), Dr. P.K.Garg(IITR), Dr. Hemant B. Kaushik(IIT Guwahati), Dr. Arindam Dey(IIT Guwahati), Dr. P.K.Joshi (JNU), Dr. S.M.Yadav (SVNIT), Prof. Manorama Mohanty(IMD), Dr. V.M.Patel(UVPCE), Dr. Kamlesh Upadhyay(Dean Civil Hospital Ahmedabad), Dr. Santosh Kumar (ISR), Dr. C.S.Sanghvi(GECM), Dr. Repaul Kanji(GIDM), Mr. Himalay Kotadiya(GIDM). Shri. P.K.Taneja, Director General, Gujarat Institute of Disaster Mangement has graced the Valedictory function as Chief Guest. MoU was signed between LDCE and Dimsoln Technology LLP,Mumbai to promote continuous interaction between the Industry and Institute. Dimsoln Techology LLP is engaed in promoting of foundation design software, research, design and development consultancy in field of structural engineering and geotechnical enginering. The MoU was signed by Dr.Gopal Tank (HoD, Applied Mechanics) and Mr.Bhavesh Vadgama ( Business Head-India and ASPAC, Dimsoln Technology)

Indian Rubber Institute (IRI) is organizing IRC2022, an International Rubber Conference with the theme “SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY, INNOVATION AND MOBILITY” & Expo during 24th to 26th November 2022 at Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Center, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This is the officially designated conference of International Rubber Conference Organization (IRCO), London. IRCO is an association of rubber societies around the world which prepares the calendar for major International Rubber Conferences. Indian Rubber Institute is an organization of thought leaders involved in the endorsement of education, training and research in the field of rubber and allied materials through its eight branches, affiliated with IRCO and ACS- Rubber division, USA. As a part of continuing education, IRI offers Post Graduate and Diploma courses (PG-DIRI and DIRI) in association with Rubber Technology Centre, IIT Kharagpur as Controller of Examinations. To enhance the educational activities, IRI has decided to establish “Dr. D Banerjee Centre of Excellence (DBCOE)” for enhancement of Rubber Technology Education, Training, Research & Skill Development at the premises of JSS Science & Technology University, Mysuru, Karnataka, India. This centre will be a nodal centre for Skill Development & Training in Asia Pacific Region. The proceeds from this conference and Expo will be utilized in establishing the above Centre of Excellence.
