A visit was organized for first year students of ME Chemical Engineering at CETP Narol Textile Infrastructure & Enviro Management plant on 17th Sep, 2021. Narol Textile Infrastructure and Enviro Management 150 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant is one of the largest Common Effluent Treatment Plants in Asia. The unit collects all the wastewater generated by the 125 textile, dyeing and printing units scattered around densely populated residential, commercial and industrial area of Ahmedabad and does primary and secondary treatment of the wastewater. The final treated effluent conforms to the norms set by the Gujarat pollution control Board. The unit has online monitoring facility of the final treated effluent which can be monitored by GPCB. Prof. T. S. Rajaraman coordinated and accompanied the students for the visit.
A visit was organized for third year students of Chemical Engineering at Gujarat Vepari mahamandal Sahakari Audyogik Vasahat Limited, CETP-Odhav plant on 16th Sep, 2021. This common effluent treatment plant was set up in 1986 and has over 300 member units. The unit collects all the wastewater generated by the cluster of units and does primary and secondary treatment of the wastewater. The final treated effluent conforms to the norms set by the Gujarat pollution control Board. The unit has online monitoring facility of the final treated effluent which can be monitored by GPCB. The treated water is discharge in the Odhav Kharikat canal of 3.20 km long H.D.P.E. pipe line through Naroda-Pirana pipe line. Dr. P. H. Rana and Dr. S. M. Dutta coordinated and accompanied the students for the visit.
