Prof. Hiral Pandya published a research paper titled "Pongamia pinnata biodiesel production using cobalt doped ZnO nanoparticles—An analytical study" in the journal "Environmental Progress & Sustainable Energy, Wiley".
West Zone Champions Institute of Steel Development and Growth (INSDAG) is organizing prestigious NATIONAL LEVEL DESIGN COMPETITION FOR STUDENTS 2021. They select four teams from each zone. This is matter of pride that all 4 teams qualified are from West zone are from LD College of Engineering... The competition demanded every team to design "An Open Air Theatre". LDCE teams comprising of final year Civil Engineering students and mentored by Prof. C.D. Patel (AMD). Teams LDCE had dominated the competition by securing all four positions by healthy margin compared to other renowned colleges/universities of West zone. These teams became West Zone Winners. Later on 2 of the teams also bagged the Runner ups position in the Final Round. It is a matter of pride for the departments as students won accolades in a National Level event of high order.

The webinar was organized by Dr Jaimin Vasa MSME Chair in association with Chemical Engineering Department, L D College of Engineering(LDCE), Ahmedabad. Electrical Engineering Department, L D College of Engineering, Ahmedabad organized an expert talk on “Climate change & Sustainable Energy” and Inauguration of IEI Students’ Chapter, EED,LDCE. This event was held on January 29th 2022. Students of under graduate and post graduate studies and faculty members have participated actively in this webinar. At starting, Welcome Address was given by Er. D.O.Nakrani, Hon.secretary, IEI, GSC, Ahmedabad. Thereafter, Objective and background of webinar on theme “Climate Change & Sustainable Energy” was delivered by By Prof. (Dr.) J.R.Iyer, Professor and Head of Department, EED, LDCE. Later on Inauguration function of IEI students’chapter was carried out and motive of IEI students chapter had been explained by Guest of Honor Prof. (Dr.) D.J.Shah, Director, Technical Courses, Sankalchand Patel University & Principal, Sankalchand Patel College of Engineering, Visnagar. Thereafter, different aspects and benefits of IEI students chapter were discussed by Dr. S. M. Ali, Director (Membership), IEI, Kolkata After that Er. Mukund Mavalankar had conducted his expert session on said topic. He insisted on utilization of renewable energy sources instead of conventional (coal based) energy sources. Further, he promoted the profuse utilization of solar power at domestic and industrial levels. At last, Sh. Vijaybhai Solanki Deputy Director, WMF, IEI, Ahmedabad,had appreciated all the guests, speakers and students and faculty members to attend this event. Vote of thanks was given by Sh. D.O.Nakrani bhai from IEI chapter, Gujarat state, and Sh. Manaswini Joshi, student co-originator IEI students’chapter, EED, LDCE.
