Plastic Technology Department arranged Alumni meet SAHYOG 2024 on 19th October 2024. Mr. Digant Patel, Owner Prutha Packaging Ltd., Mr. Ashish Prajapati from Milacron Industries Ltd., Mr. Nitin Pandya from Prasad group of companies and Mr. Nachiket Joshi of Bhavi Electronics attended the meet. They gave their valuable suggestions regarding future scope in the field of Plastic Technology.
SAHYOG, an annual industry-institute interaction event was organized by the Electrical Engineering Department at LDCE, Ahmedabad on date 19th October, 2024. The following industry representatives graced the occasion with their presence. In addition to the industry representatives, the meeting was attended by all the faculty members and student representatives from UG and PG programmes.
On 18th October 2024, an expert lecture was organized at L.D. College of Engineering for the 3rd semester students of the Chemical Engineering Department. The topic of the lecture was "Basics and Case Studies of Pumps," delivered by Mr. Rahul Goel, an accomplished Lead Process Engineer from Mott MacDonald, India with extensive industry experience in fluid mechanics and pump systems. ME-1st year 2024-25 Hostel Admission Round-2 Merit List & Fees Notice
On 14th–15th October 2024, a two-day visit to the Vasna Barrage was organized for 125 students, under the guidance of Prof. R. M. Jadav, Dr. P. K. Shah, Prof. C. N. Bhavsar, and Prof. S. S. Dixit. The visit provided in-depth exposure to dam operations, flood control measures, irrigation systems, and hydraulic structures, linking theoretical knowledge to practical water resource management.
On the occasion of the World Standards Day, an expert session on topic “Refreshing Fundamentals of IS 456:2000” was arranged on 14.10.24. The expert talk was delivered by eminent Structural Engineer and Consultant Mr.Bhavin Shah ( Founder and CEO, SQVe consultants). The lecture was attended by students of B.E. Sem V and M.E. (Structure and Geotech). The session was coordinated by Prof.A.G.Hansora and Prof.A.J.Shah under the guideship of Major Dr.C.S.Sanghvi.
The Department of Civil Engineering organized an Expert Lecture on the topic “Refreshing Fundamentals of IS 456.” The session was delivered by Mr. Bhavin Shah, Founder & CEO, SQVe Consultants, who shared his rich professional experience and insights on the practical applications of IS 456, the Indian Standard Code of Practice for Plain and Reinforced Concrete. The lecture revisited the fundamental provisions of the code, including design philosophies, material specifications, and safety considerations, while also highlighting common errors and best practices in structural design. Mr. Shah emphasized how a clear understanding of IS 456 is essential for ensuring quality, durability, and safety in civil engineering projects. The interactive session encouraged students to clarify doubts related to code interpretation and real-world implementation. A total of 50 students actively participated, gaining deeper knowledge that will enhance both their academic learning and their preparedness for professional practice.
On 14th October 2024, 11 students visited the Bullet Train features at Sabarmati Station, accompanied by Prof. R. K. Jain and Prof. R. N. Shukla. Students were introduced to high-speed rail technology, station design, and passenger facilities, gaining a glimpse of India’s upcoming advancements in high-speed rail infrastructure.
Final year Electrical Engineering students' team has been shortlisted for Ideation proposal (in Maze Solving Robot category) from Level I to Level II (Proof of Concept) in ROBOFEST GUJARAT 4.0 program, India’s biggest Robotics Competition for ROBOFEST4.0. They had participated in the DD National ROBOCON and secured a place among the top 12 in India. The team consisting of Bhatti Mahammadsamir, Maharshi Sanjaykumar Patel, Heta Rajyaguru, and Hiteshree Pindoria with constant guidance from mentor Professor Mihir Vasavda sir achieved this feat. They won Rs. 2 lakh prize money from GUJCOST
