The objective of the event was to encourage students to learn different skills like hard wiring, tools handling, trouble shooting of electrical wiring, team building, project planning and costing, Presentation skill.

Plastic Technology Department and IPI Ahmedabad arranged an expert talk on 22nd April 2025 on the topic “Flexible Film Packaging Fundamentals, Emerging Technologies & New Developments”. The speaker for the event was an Ex-Alumni of the department, Mr. Bhavik Lamba who is currently the (Q.A) Incharge Packaging Film Plant, AMUL FED Dairy.
Dr. Urvi Amin, (NICM-Gandhinagar), delivered an offline lecture on “Basics and Advancements of Disaster Management” on 17th April 2025. Around 10 participants were present in the lecture (students 2th semester ME and faculties).
Students of the Mechanical Engineering Department have visited multiple industrial units under the Adani conglomerate at Mundra. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industrial practices.
On 7th April 2025, the 2nd Semester Civil Engineering students of L. D. College of Engineering visited i-Hub, Ahmedabad, to attend an engaging expert lecture on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The session aimed to enhance students’ awareness of the legal and regulatory aspects of innovation and entrepreneurship. The experts provided a comprehensive overview of IPR, highlighting its role in safeguarding creative ideas, technological innovations, and entrepreneurial ventures. Through real-world examples and case studies, the resource persons explained the processes of securing patents, copyrights, and trademarks, and how these legal tools empower innovators to protect their intellectual contributions. The session also emphasized the importance of integrating IPR awareness into the academic journey of engineers, encouraging students to think not only about technical problem-solving but also about the commercial and legal value of their innovations. The visit proved to be highly informative and inspiring, motivating students to adopt a forward-thinking approach where creativity, innovation, and legal awareness go hand in hand. This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to nurturing future-ready engineers who are well-versed in both technical and entrepreneurial dimensions of their profession.

L. D. College of Engineering in Association with Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. (Japan) has organized an Online Technical Presentation (Expert Lecture) on 13/03/2025 1:30 p.m. on topic of Sumitomo Ultra High Damping Technology: Seismic Devices - Building Dampers & Ground Isolators. The speaker Dr. Andri Setiawan is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Universitat Politecnica de Valencia (UPV) having expertise in Building Dampers & Ground Isolators and is Global Chief Technical Advisor (Based in Spain) for Sumitomo.
Applied Mechanics department of L.D.College of Engineering in association with Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management (GIDM, Gandhinagar) organized a 3-day workshop on “Disaster Management” under the aegis of MoU with GIDM. This well-curated workshop had a mix of Expert sessions as well as hands-on session on important topics pertaining to Disaster management. The expert sessions covered a myriad of topics such as Basics of DM, Recent advancement in mapping and mitigation of disasters, Career prospects in Disaster Management, Application of GIS and GPS in Disaster mapping. The hands-on session gave a lucid demonstration of fire extinguishing methods, fire-classifications and hands-on practice on operating of different types of fire extinguishers and methods to douse particular types of fire. The hands-on session also gave students wonderful insights into the preparation of Disaster mitigation Plan of LDCE. The workshop was organized on 5th-6th-7th March’2025. The well-curated workshop was coordinated by Prof.Dr.Poonam I. Modi, Prof.Bansal R. Patel and Prof.Shalini R. Singh with Major Dr.C.S.Sanghvi as the convener.
