FLY activity report
The User defined Project carried by the students of B.E.Civil ( Pass out 2019-20) made headlines in one the leading newspapers ( DNA INDIA) of India. The project theme was based on Sustainable Living whereby the students Dhruv Trivedi, Sugam Thakkar and Dasrath Mistry under the guidance of their mentor Prof.Poonam I. Modi had prepared innovative sandless bricks using the Mining waste. The same project was also recognized by the SSIP team and was awarded 2nd prize by the jury. The project is now carried forward by the next batch of students to take it to a new level.
Final year student Jay patel secured first rank in Cross country Inter zonal competition of 10km running. The competition was held at Lakshmi Vidyapith, Sarigam under the GTU sports festival SPIRIT 2019. He is selected for inter university cross country national competition to represent GTU.

Delegation from Loyola Marymount University had visited the Applied Mechanics Department on 30th August 2019. The delegates Branden F. Grimmett ( Associate Provost, Career and Professional Development) and Daniel Marschner, Ph.D. ( Director, International Admission and Outreach) had addressed all the students of our program to make them aware of Education opportunities and career development.
An expert lecture on "Capabilities of MIDAS - Civil Software" was arranged for all the final year students (UG) and PG students of ME Civil (Structures) & Geo-tech Engg. The expert talk was delived by Er. Shishir Kumar, Professional Software Engineer.
