Prof. A. M. Malek, Prof.(Dr) M. B. Dholakia and Prof. MohdZuned Shaikh had arranged one day workshop on “Auto-CAD” for sem III civil students in collaboration with CAD-Desk on 4 th August 2017 (10.30 to 17.00 hrs) in that Shri Syed Fazal, CAD desk, Jaipur had delivered an expert talk in which 150 students had participated.

Dholakia and Prof. MohdZuned Shaikh had arranged a seminar on “Concrete Materials” in collaboration with Ultratech Cement on 24th July 2017 in which Shri V.K.Pandya, Zonal Head and Chairmain ICI, Ahmedabad Chapter had delivered an expert talk about the topic in which 60 students had participated.

The Department of Civil Engineering organized an Expert Lecture on the topic “Refreshing Fundamentals of IS 456.” The session was delivered by Mr. Bhavin Shah, Founder & CEO, SQVe Consultants, who shared his rich professional experience and insights on the practical applications of IS 456, the Indian Standard Code of Practice for Plain and Reinforced Concrete. The lecture revisited the fundamental provisions of the code, including design philosophies, material specifications, and safety considerations, while also highlighting common errors and best practices in structural design. Mr. Shah emphasized how a clear understanding of IS 456 is essential for ensuring quality, durability, and safety in civil engineering projects. The interactive session encouraged students to clarify doubts related to code interpretation and real-world implementation. A total of 50 students actively participated, gaining deeper knowledge that will enhance both their academic learning and their preparedness for professional practice.
