    Out of 208 teams in PS Id- 1582, only 5 teams were selected for the finals, one of which was Safety Builders. The competition was held at MIT ADT University, Pune from 11th to 15th December 2024. Our team left for Pune in the morning on 10th December and arrived at the campus in the evening on the same day. There were three evaluation rounds which were on day 1, day 3 & day 5. In between on day 2 & 4 mentoring sessions had been organized to collect inputs from evaluators. All evaluators were from DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation).

    The dynamic team from the 1st semester of the Electrical Engineering department secured first place in the "Project Prodigy" competition at the 'IGNITE 2K24' event organized by PMI Gujarat and the Student Club of LDCE. They successfully navigated two challenging rounds that tested both their project-building and PowerPoint skills. The team members were Forum Vaghela, Priya Patel, Dhwanit Chauhan, and Dhruv Kadia.

    SAHYOG, an annual industry-institute interaction event was organized by the Electrical Engineering Department at LDCE, Ahmedabad on date 19th October, 2024. The following industry representatives graced the occasion with their presence. In addition to the industry representatives, the meeting was attended by all the faculty members and student representatives from UG and PG programmes.

    Final year Electrical Engineering students' team has been shortlisted for Ideation proposal
    Final year Electrical Engineering students' team has been shortlisted for Ideation proposal (in Maze Solving Robot category) from Level I to Level II (Proof of Concept) in ROBOFEST GUJARAT 4.0 program, India’s biggest Robotics Competition for ROBOFEST4.0. They had participated in the DD National ROBOCON and secured a place among the top 12 in India. The team consisting of Bhatti Mahammadsamir, Maharshi Sanjaykumar Patel, Heta Rajyaguru, and Hiteshree Pindoria with constant guidance from mentor Professor Mihir Vasavda sir achieved this feat. They won Rs. 2 lakh prize money from GUJCOST

    Dr K.B. Kela from the Electrical Engineering Department has made a significant contribution to the book "Reliability Analysis of Modern Power Systems," published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. in association with IEEE Press. His research published in the form of 2 Chapters 13 and 14, is titled "Reliability Enhancement of Electrical Distribution Systems Considering Active Distributed Generations" and "Reliability Enhancement Strategy for Electrical Distribution Systems Considering Reward and Penalty," respectively. This book is set to be indexed in Scopus and WoS databases.
    Dr K.B. Kela also wrote a research article on the topic "Power Supply Accuracy".

    Digital Fabrication Workshop
    As part of the Digital Fabrication Workshop for around 50 students of first-year Electrical Engineering students, hands-on electrical wiring and basic soldering training during regular laboratory sessions were conducted to provide foundational practical skills. The initiative aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
    The laboratory sessions were conducted in the department’s well-equipped laboratory supported by Bosch India Pvt. Ltd. The sessions covered essential topics such as the identification and use of wiring tools, understanding wire gauges, circuit connections, and safety protocols.
    Faculty members-Prof. M.G. Patel, Dr. Z.B. Parekh and Prof. V.M. Dholakiya provided close supervision, ensuring adherence to safety norms and offering real-time guidance.

    Development of a Proof of Concept (PoC) in the field of 3D reconstruction with digital cameras,
    Prof. V.M. Dholakiya mentored Team Acenthis, comprising students from Electrical and Electronics & Communication Engineering, under the LDCE Aarambh Cell as part of the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) initiative. The team worked on developing a Proof of Concept (PoC) in the field of 3D reconstruction with digital cameras, which showcased advanced innovation and practical application. This mentorship played a pivotal role in refining their technical and entrepreneurial skills, culminating in the emergence of their project as a Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT)-recognized startup. In July 2022, the startup, Zevien Technologies Private Limited, was officially established, marking a significant milestone for the students and the institution’s innovation ecosystem.

    The Electrical Engineering Department of L. D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad, organized orientation program for newly admitted students of the B.E. Semester-I on June 27, 2024. This event aimed to familiarize the new students with the college's environment, facilities, faculty, and overall academic culture, thereby easing their transition into the college life.
    
    The program commenced with registration, coordinated by dedicated student volunteers. Following registration, the program officially began with a prayer and an introductory speech by a student anchor. This segment aimed to create a serene and welcoming atmosphere for the new entrants.

    Our visit to Adani Port Mundra was an enlightening experience, where we first had the opportunity to witness the remarkable Adani Port and SEZ Miniature. As the largest commercial port operator in India, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) commands a significant share, approximately 25%, of the nation's cargo flow. Its extensive reach spans the maritime states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha, boasting a network of 13 domestic ports. The installation of state-of-the-art cargo-handling infrastructure underscores APSEZ's commitment to excellence, ensuring the seamless management of diverse cargo types, including containers, liquid and dry cargo, and crude oil. Moreover, with over 15,000 hectares of land meticulously divided, Adani Port Mundra emerges as a testament to strategic planning and operational proficiency. From a student's perspective, witnessing the scale and sophistication of APSEZ's operations offers valuable insights into the dynamics of India's maritime trade landscape.
