The 1st year Electrical Engineering students from L.D. College of Engineering embarked on an enriching academic visit to the Institute for Plasma Research (IPR) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on 8th April and 9th April, 2024. Led by their guide, Gattu Ramesh Babu, the visit encompassed a comprehensive exploration of plasma, its applications, and cutting-edge research in the field.
Our visit to Adani Port Mundra was an enlightening experience, where we first had the opportunity to witness the remarkable Adani Port and SEZ Miniature. As the largest commercial port operator in India, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) commands a significant share, approximately 25%, of the nation's cargo flow. Its extensive reach spans the maritime states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha, boasting a network of 13 domestic ports. The installation of state-of-the-art cargo-handling infrastructure underscores APSEZ's commitment to excellence, ensuring the seamless management of diverse cargo types, including containers, liquid and dry cargo, and crude oil. Moreover, with over 15,000 hectares of land meticulously divided, Adani Port Mundra emerges as a testament to strategic planning and operational proficiency. From a student's perspective, witnessing the scale and sophistication of APSEZ's operations offers valuable insights into the dynamics of India's maritime trade landscape.
Bosch Rexroth along with Bosch India Foundation had shown an interest to establish an Artisan Training Center (ATC) at L D College of Engineering as a part of their CSR activity. As part of the same, an MOU was signed between Bosch India Foundation (BIF) and L.D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summi-2024 at Mahatma mandir, Gandhinagar.
The Institution of Engineers (India) or IEI is a professional body in India established to promote and advance the engineering profession. It provides various services including engineering education, training, certification, and professional development opportunities for engineers across different disciplines. IEI also organizes seminars, conference, and publishes technical journals to facilitate knowledge exchange and networking among its members.
On February 23rd, 2024, IEI Student’s Chapter - EED, LDCE, organized a Workshop on Real-time Implementation of IoT Using Node MCU from 3:45 PM to 5:30 PM at Chanakya Hall, EED, LDCE. The speakers, Vaibhav Pandya, Gaurav Pal, and Shailendra Gupta, students of the 6th Semester Electrical, led the event, which had a total of 66 attendees, primarily from the 1st and 2nd year students.
An Industrial visit to " SOLANCE INDUSTRIES LIMITED '', Bavla, Ahmedabad, Gujarat was organized by the Electrical Engineering department of L.D. College of Engineering on Saturday, 2nd March 2024. 15-students of third year pursuing Degree in Electrical Engineering and two faculty members Mr. Mitesh Kumar Priyadarshi and Dr. Chetan Upadhyay visited " SOLANCE INDUSTRIES LIMITED ''. This Industries Manufacturing Two-Wheeler, Three-Wheeler and Four-Wheeler Batteries and have been in existence for more than four decades in battery industries. To understand how actual equipment looks and how it’s processing, to see latest advancements of equipment, management in plant and safety to be followed in Battery Manufacturing Industries. Also, to Experience the job and responsibilities of an Electrical Engineer.
Electrical Engg. Dept. hosted Dr. Chetan Singh Solanki, Prof. IIT Mumbai and the Brand Ambassador for Solar Energy, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh on 18/2/24 from 4-6.30 pm. Around 20 alumni of IIT Bombay were present along with some faculty members. Dr. Solanki has pledged 11 years of his life from 2020 to 2031 to travel in a solar powered bus , move around the country educating masses about Climate Change and spreading awareness about the its corrective measures. He is the founder of the Energy Swaraj Movement
Report On ATAL Sponsored FDP Role of AI in Modern Power System Protection
The visit was initiated by the Department of Electrical Engineering. It was a One-Day industrial visit to Kotarpur water works, Ahmedabad. The aim is to get an Industrial exposure for future endeavour and awareness regarding water to the students. On September 27,2023 visited along with 40 students and 2 faculty members Prof. H.N.Ranal and Dr.K.A.Bhatt .
The event KAIZEN – 2K23 was organized by Electrical Engineering Department with great efforts and support by all faculty members and students under leadership of Head of the department, Dr.Ketan P Badgujar and Prof J R Iyer. Six parallel sessions were conducted at different venues. Well known experts from the industry came to guide and assess the student’s work. Each jury member took keen interest in discussing each and every internship and project in details.
