Dr Charulata Dube, (from CUG-Gandhinagar), has delivered an online lecture on “Basics of Surface Characterization” on 24th October 2024. Around 60 students of the 3rd semester were present in the online session. Overall coordination was done by Dr Anjali Bishnoi and Dr Sandip Bhatt.
The department in association with Lodge Fellowship No. 140, Ahmedabad organized an Expert lecture on “Road Safety” on 24.10.24. The session was delivered by Dr.Satyajit Dixit (Practising Neurosurgeon -Shalby Hospital). Dr.Dixit through his presentation gave crucial insights into the topic and motivated the student fraternity to observe due precautions while driving/riding in order to avoid any critical mishaps that can be life endangering.

Report of Sahyog-2024- An Industry- Academia Meeting by Computer Engineering Department
SAHYOG’2024 was jointly organized by the Civil and Applied Mechanics department on 19.10.24. SAHYOG each year is organized with a noble intention of fostering and strengthening our Industry-Academia collaboration giving due cognizance to the fact, that Academia alone cannot hone up the skill-set of students to make them Industry ready and we therefore keep looking forward to such healthy interactions. This year SAHYOG was convened in form of a Panel discussion with a main objective to develop a better understanding as to how we can shape our Internship program in a way that it can help us develop our students into competent professions by giving them a proper Industry exposure. The panel comprised of eminent Industry stalwarts such as Anal Sheth (Head-Research and Development – in India’s leading precast concrete organization) Concrete Pvt. Ltd, Apurva Soni (Proprietor - KHA Designs, Ahmedabad), Rohit Solanki (Director, Aartav Engineering Pvt. Ltd), Jay Patel (Assistant Engineer, Road & Bridge Department, Ahmedabad), Kirit B. Nasit Assistant General Manager – Highways at Infinite Civil Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Ahmedabad ),Mr.Keval R. Parikh (Director of RJP Infrastructure Private Limited, Ahmedabad and Aditya Pratak Singh (Founder and Managing Partner – Tevoren Technologies LLP0. The panel discussion resulted in fruitful outcomes in terms of the proactive actions that can be taken by both Academia and Industry in order to tackle the challenges faced in the Internship program. The event was well coordinated by faculty members Prof.P.J.Mehta, Prof.P.H.Andharia, Prof.S.R.Singh and Prof. Kazi. Prof.Dr.Toral Vyas ( Master of Ceremony) carried out the proceedings of the event eventually leading it to a Panel discussion well-moderated by Prof. Dr. P.I.Modi. All the faculty members of both the department helped in leveraging the industry linkages.
The Department of Civil Engineering, L. D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad successfully organized SAHYOG 2024, an Industry–Academia Meet, bringing together distinguished industry leaders, academicians, researchers, and students on a common platform. The event served as a bridge between the academic world and the professional industry, fostering collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange in the field of civil engineering. The program witnessed the active participation of about 100 students, who had the unique opportunity to interact with experts and gain first-hand exposure to emerging technologies, industry expectations, and the future scope of civil engineering. The event highlighted discussions on sustainable construction practices, modern infrastructure development, use of advanced materials, and the integration of digital tools like BIM, GIS, and automation in engineering projects. The event was meticulously coordinated under the guidance and involvement of senior faculty members: Dr. Shivendra Jha Dr. Zuned Shaikh Dr. Toral Vyas Prof. Sahista Kazi Prof. Sudhanshu Dixit Their leadership ensured smooth execution of the program and meaningful engagement between the student community and industry representatives. SAHYOG 2024 proved to be a dynamic forum for networking, sharing success stories, and exploring collaborative opportunities between the department and the professional world. The insights gained from the event are expected to greatly benefit the students in aligning their academic learning with real-world industry practices, thereby enhancing their preparedness for future careers in civil engineering.
Plastic Technology Department arranged Alumni meet SAHYOG 2024 on 19th October 2024. Mr. Digant Patel, Owner Prutha Packaging Ltd., Mr. Ashish Prajapati from Milacron Industries Ltd., Mr. Nitin Pandya from Prasad group of companies and Mr. Nachiket Joshi of Bhavi Electronics attended the meet. They gave their valuable suggestions regarding future scope in the field of Plastic Technology.
SAHYOG, an annual industry-institute interaction event was organized by the Electrical Engineering Department at LDCE, Ahmedabad on date 19th October, 2024. The following industry representatives graced the occasion with their presence. In addition to the industry representatives, the meeting was attended by all the faculty members and student representatives from UG and PG programmes.
The dynamic team from the 1st semester of the Electrical Engineering department secured first place in the "Project Prodigy" competition at the 'IGNITE 2K24' event organized by PMI Gujarat and the Student Club of LDCE. They successfully navigated two challenging rounds that tested both their project-building and PowerPoint skills. The team members were Forum Vaghela, Priya Patel, Dhwanit Chauhan, and Dhruv Kadia.
