Plastic Technology Department along with SSIP Cell, LDCE arranged a HACKATHON on World Environment Day 5th June 2025. The theme of the Hackathon was to encourage innovative, technology driven solutions and develop sustainable alternatives to reduce and reuse waste for a better environment. Total 11 teams had participated out of which 3 teams were declared winners. A team of 5 students of Plastic Technology Department, Kirtan Shirke, Himanshee Maurya, Riyaz Khalifa, Martin Maisuriya and Rakesh Patil guided by Prof. Hetal Shah secured the 2nd position at the Hackathon event on World Environment Day for their project titled “Ash to Ink”.
A pedagogy meeting with Mr. Nitin Pandya from Prasad group of companies was arranged on 6th May 2025. He discussed regarding schedule and topics for arranging upcoming lectures at the Plastic Technology Department as a part of MOU activity signed with the institute
Prof. Hetal Shah has worked as coordinator in Summer Boot camp 2025 for school students organized by SSIP cell from 5th may to 7th May 2025.
A meeting with the Officers from Indian Institute of Packaging was arranged on 5th May 2025. Discussion regarding possibility of arranging workshops and expert lecture at Indian Institute of Packaging was done.
Prof. Hetal Shah & Prof. Stuti Shah were invited for an Industry Academic meet arranged by BIS club at AMUL Fed Dairy on 29-4-2025. The session provided a platform for industry experts, stake holders and policy makers to engage in meaningful discussions, share insights and contribute towards shaping effective standards
Plastic Technology Department and IPI Ahmedabad arranged an expert talk on 22nd April 2025 on the topic “Flexible Film Packaging Fundamentals, Emerging Technologies & New Developments”. The speaker for the event was an Ex-Alumni of the department, Mr. Bhavik Lamba who is currently the (Q.A) Incharge Packaging Film Plant, AMUL FED Dairy.
Prof Bharati Basantani and students of 2023 passout batch, Jeet Lukhi, Rajan Pumbhadiya, Ashish Tiwari and Dhwani Khatri published a Design Patent on “Sterilization Chamber” on 20-3-2025, (Design No-350941-001)

Prof. B.G.Basantani, Prof. Stuti Shah & Prof. Hetal Shah attended a session arranged by WDC cell LDCE . Session was on “Unlocking the secrets of Ayurveda” by Dr. Shital Belani (BAMS) for the celebration of International Women’s Day. Prof. Stuti Shah anchored the event.
