The Department of Chemical Engineering organized an Expert Lecture on “An Overview of Plant Design and Project Economics” on 26th August 2025 for 5th semester students. The session was delivered by Shri M. N. Vyas (Ex-IPCL), an eminent professional with extensive industrial experience in process plant design and techno-economic evaluation.
An expert lecture on “Emotional Intelligence and Spirituality” was organized by Chemical Engineering Department for the students of all the disciplines of L.D.C.E. Expert, Mr. Rajesh Jain-esteemed MD of Epitude Consultants, London, conducted the lecture on 21/08/2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Around 180 UG students who gained invaluable insights from his vast global experience. Following is the glimpses of the event.
An expert lecture on "Piping & Process Plant Engineering: From Concept to Commissioning" was organised by the Chemical Engineering Department at L.D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad. The event was coordinated by Dr. Shital Amin, Dr. Ashish Baldaniya, and Dr. Ronak Patel. Held on August 6, 2025, the session was specifically tailored for the 7th-semester students of the Chemical Engineering Department, providing them with invaluable insights into the multifaceted world of process plant engineering.
An industrial visit to Kiri Industries Ltd., located in the Vatva, Ahmedabad, was successfully organized on 6th August 2025 for the third semester students of Chemical Engineering. A total of 37 students, accompanied by Prof. Piyush S. Patel and Prof. Nikita Ambegaonkar, participated in this educational tour.
An expert lecture on "Opportunity for Studying in the USA" was organised by the Chemical Engineering Department at L.D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad. The event was coordinated by Dr. Ashish Baldania. Held on August 5, 2025, at 3:15 PM, the session was specifically tailored for the final-year students of the Chemical Engineering Department, providing them with comprehensive insights into higher education opportunities in the United States.
An expert lecture by Mr. Simit Deliwala, an alumnus of chemical department, was conducted for BE Sem 5 students on Process Safety.
A webinar was conducted by Mathworks for students of chemical engineering on 9th and 10th July, 2025 for enhancing the awareness of MATLAB and Simulink applications in chemical and food processing engineering. Both BE and ME students of chemical engineering department attended the online sessions.
Dr. Urvi Amin, (NICM-Gandhinagar), delivered an offline lecture on “Basics and Advancements of Disaster Management” on 17th April 2025. Around 10 participants were present in the lecture (students 2th semester ME and faculties).
A one-day training program on "Industrial Energy Efficiency and Decarbonisation Using Virtual Reality-Based Digi-Twin Training Simulator" was successfully conducted on 27th February 2025. The event was a collaborative effort between the National Productivity Council (NPC) and GIZ, Germany, hosted at L.D. College of Engineering (LDCE), Ahmedabad.
An expert lecture on "Cleaner Production" was organized by the Chemical Engineering Department of L D College of Engineering (LDCE) on 20th February 2025. The keynote speaker was Dr. Bharat Jain from the Gujarat Cleaner Production Centre (GCPC).
